RNA Delivery Prato 2026 is being held at the Prato campus of Monash University in Tuscany, Italy (https://www.monash.edu/prato). The meeting is a not-for-profit forum for discussion of new ideas, with a view to setting the agenda for future research directions and new collaborations.
RNA Delivery Prato 2026 aims to foster conversation and discourse on the most challenging and important topics in the field of modern RNA delivery science including
· Remodelling of RNA-lipid nanoparticles in biological fluids
· mRNA disposition and effects of RNA in the lymphatics
· New routes for RNA delivery - oral, pulmonary, intranasal, intrathecal, etc
· Factors contributing to variability in RNA biodistribution and effect
(e.g. fed state, hyperlipidemia, disease states)
· Beyond lipid nanoparticles - new RNA formulations
· Active cellular targeting of RNA payloads: chemistry, biology, scale-up, and reality
· Immune toxicity and sensing by leukocytes
· Endosomal escape - how can it be enhanced safely?
· Codon optimization- is it needed? Does it work for saRNA?
· AI for understanding RNA structure/function- where the field is now and what’s missing
· Differences in mRNA and saRNA- design, formulation, QC, biodistribution/expression
in vivo
· Barriers for targeted delivery- chemistry, scale-up, in vivo barriers
